Fun in the snow!
Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog
It has been lovely to see some snow today and the children have been desperate to get outside. We have been inside most of the day but as we approached the end of the day, we all went outside for some fun! There was certainly some competition as to who could build the biggest snowball!
World Book Day
Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog
We had a fantastic day celebrating World Book Day! We wrote character riddles, setting descriptions and took part in a ‘Poetry Slam’ which the children were amazing at! Thank you for everyone’s efforts, all of year 3 looked fantastic!
Herd Farm Trip
Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog
Last Friday the children enjoyed a wonderful morning at Herd Farm where they took part in a Stone Age workshop. The children took part in den building, spear throwing, exploring stone age weapons and artefacts, looking around a roundhouse and watching a fire being lit using flint and metal. The children were also very excited to meet a real life archaeologist!
Meditation
Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog
In RE, the children have been exploring Hinduism and the importance of meditation to Hindus. The children held their own meditation session and explored the importance of the Aum symbol.
Soil Layers
Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog
We finished our last lesson on ‘Rocks and Soils’ with a quiz to see what we had remembered about our learning. We also enjoyed a special treat and made our own ‘Soil Layer Puddings’ using biscuits and chocolate! We used different ingredients to represent each layer and it was definitely enjoyed by all!
