This week we have enjoyed using different paper techniques to create bird sculptures. We also enjoyed celebrating our non uniform day for the most children walking, biking or rolling to school!

Javelin and sculpture

We enjoyed our PE lesson this week working on out techniques for throwing, including javelin. Our class had the most children walking biking and rolling on Wednesday, thank you for your support. We will be enjoying an extra playtime and a non uniform day on Friday 16th May. In art we explored ways of manipulating paper ready for making our bird sculptures.

A warm week!

We have had another busy week in Year 1 and have been enjoying being out in the sunshine. On Tuesday we enjoyed a skipping workshop and a skipping display across the whole school. It has also been a joy to welcome Miss Smith back on a phased return. The children have been so pleased to see her and have been especially kind and helpful with her!

Welcome back, we hope you had a lovely Easter break. This week we have enjoyed being outside identifying some of our trees. We have started developing our running skills in athletics as part of our PE. In art we looked closely at different birds and tried some observational drawings using different pens and pencils. We will be using these to inspire our own sculptures. Next week will be drawing feathers- if you have or find any interesting feathers, please send them into school! Final week of Spring term

We have enjoyed sketching outside this week showing what we can see outside in Spring. It was great to have a visit from ‘The book wagon’ and find out about some new books as well. Pumps and wellies will be sent home tonight, please check they fit and replace if needed for the start of next term. Have a great Easter break!
