Drawing Minibeasts

Year 1 have been using their observation skills to look carefully at photographs of minibeasts. Then they used their tracing and sketching skills to make minibeast drawings. Well done Year 1!
A Coronation Celebration

Year 1 have had a brilliant time today celebrating the coronation of King Charles III! They have made crowns and Union Jack flags, drawn some super detailed pictures of St Edward's crown and even done some coronation-themed phonics. Have a great bank holiday Year 1!
Cress

This week Year 1 have been planting cress seeds! We have been writing instructions about how to grow cress, as well as observing the changes in our cress over time as part of our learning in science.
Exploring Axles

In DT this week we have been investigating axles and how to use them to make wheels move. Year 1 discovered that they needed an axle holder to let their axle move properly.
Science Day - Bubbles

Year 1 have had so much fun on Science Day today! We investigated how we could make the biggest bubble, and how we could make the most bubbles. For each question, the children did a great job of thinking of different ideas to try and testing them out.
