Party time!

Thursday afternoon was Christmas party time! We danced, played games, ate our party food and enjoyed being with our friends. It was lovely to celebrate together.
Shadow Investigators!
Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog
Today we have been investigating how shadows change when the distance between the light source and the object changes. The children worked really well together as a group, using their measuring and collaboration skills. We found out that the shadow is longer when the light source is closer to the object however, we did have some inconsistent result which we believe might be down to our measuring skills!
Arctic Explorer!
Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog
Last week we had a very special visitor in school! We met a scientist called Katie who has been on her very own Arctic expedition. The children were extremely inquisitive about her adventure and asked lots of interesting questions. We found out that Katie visited the Arctic for 6 weeks to conduct some research on clouds and their impact on climate change. Katie showed us some photographs from her travels and it was really interesting to hear her stories. We hoped the children shared her stories with you at home. Thank you to Katie for her wonderful visit.
Hockey players in the making!
Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog
This term in PE we are learning how to play hockey! Over the past few weeks, the children have been developing their hockey skills by:
- Controlling a ball, understanding how it moves and different ways to provide a pass and score.
- Working within a team to achieve a flow of passing (In Possession) vs. an opposition.
- Understanding the importance of space, safety and movement in hockey.
We are looking forward to playing some mini games over the next few weeks, putting our skills to the test!

Peter Dalrymple (PDalrymple) on: Year 3 Class Blog
Tonight your child will be bringing home an invitation, inviting you to come into school on Thursday 1st December from 3-4pm. This is an opportunity for your child to share their learning with you so far and to explore the classroom. We hope you can make it.
