Welcome to Year 3
Miss Riches is our class teacher, supported part time by Mrs Pullan, and Mrs Starkey will cover PPA time.
PE days will be Tuesday and Wednesday (swimming).
The first swimming session is Wednesday 16th September.
Reading books will be collected in on a Thursday and sent home on a Thursday.
Spellings will be sent home on a Wednesday and tested on Wednesday.
Mental arithmetic will be tested on a Wednesday.
Please make sure water bottles are brought in each day and pumps are in school for each child.

Earth Day

Today has been a great day! In our class, we’ve been learning all about the importance of looking after the Earth and how we can manage that, just one person doing one little thing at a time, whether it’s turning a light off, unplugging devices instead of leaving them on standby or making an effort to source local or UK-grown produce instead of items that have had to travel half-way round the world to reach us. The children were really mature in their thoughts and comments, which they presented in a pop-up globe. We also enjoyed making recycled bees! All children have been asked to create a poster over the next week (due in on Friday 1st May) encouraging people to give up single use plastic bottles. They are armed with facts about the harm single use plastics cause to us, animals and our environment so the eco-committee will be excited to see what they come up with!
