Welcome to Year 3
Miss Riches is our class teacher, supported part time by Mrs Pullan, and Mrs Starkey will cover PPA time.
PE days will be Tuesday and Wednesday (swimming).
The first swimming session is Wednesday 16th September.
Reading books will be collected in on a Thursday and sent home on a Thursday.
Spellings will be sent home on a Wednesday and tested on Wednesday.
Mental arithmetic will be tested on a Wednesday.
Please make sure water bottles are brought in each day and pumps are in school for each child.

Space!

This morning, the children had an amazing experience going to Space in our planetarium! Some children were not sure what to expect but they were all very excited once we got to the hall to find a giant dome filling the space! Inside, they had to be super quiet and listen to a talk about the moon (Did you know it's +127 degrees in the light on the moon and -173 in the shade?!) before watching a short film about Neil Armstrong's moon landing in 1969, which will really help us with our history topic about explorers this half term! The icing on the cake was definitely when the children got to lie down as day turned to night and the stars came out! There were lots of 'Ooohs' and 'Aaahs' as the constellations were brought to life - perhaps a spot of star-gazing this weekend, if Storm Amy allows! Pictures to follow on Mr Dalrymple's newsletter.
