Admissions Policy 2027-28 - Public Consultation

In line with the School Admissions Code, Adel St John the Baptist Church of England (VA) Primary School is required to review and consult on their admissions policies for the 2027–2028 academic year due to the statutory 7 year review requirement.  As part of this process, we are holding a 6 week public consultation from 8th December 2025 to 18th January 2026 including with schools in the Leeds City Region.

The key changes are around:

• Addition of ‘Exceptional social or medical needs’
• Simplified faith-based criteria
• Amended ‘In Year’ process (now via LCC)

Comments on the admissions arrangements must be made in writing before the 19th January 2026.

All responses will be reviewed by the Governing Board before the policy is finalised. The final version will be published by the 15th March 2026.
